A very sad day when the idiots tore down that great facility in Roscommon Town. Tearing around that alley was a far better workout than you will get in any gym. It was a form of snobbery to pull down that ancient monument that gave pleasure to so many people over so many years.
It would appear that you have identified this site at the back of the Garda Station. Do you know the exact location?
You appear to have missed the alley located on the Galway Rd. at Abbeytown on the opposite side of the road from the old Infirmary. It is identified on the 1:1056 Os map of the town of 1838.
